I know Will is working on other books at the moment, and I'm not denying that. I want to discuss the development of the new game and Will's potential part with that.

I remember one developer mentioning that when they developed the new World of Darkness's supernaturals, they worked VERY close with each other in order to ensure that all the games were more compatible.
I think Will pitching a game idea is no different from that: Creating an idea that someone else could develop.
And if the other WoD lines are going to be limited runs, even better.

Now, as to getting privilege to develop one's own ideas if you're a developer...well, you're certainly in a better position to have your ideas reviewed, but you've hardly got carte blanche.

I can imagine it does. The major three games have set the structure of the WOD; anything that comes after them will have to conform to that structure in some way if White Wolf wants to continue with the crossover capabilities of the WOD in the future.
I think us normal folks will be able to tell some major differences, from the style of writing if nothing else.
As for carte blanche, I figured that one. I was just poking into the darkness to see if something poked back about the development of the new game.

That we ended up going with a "Frankenstein's monsters" game for Number Four is not due directly to my pitch. The only real credit due to my pitch, I think, is that it helped us to answer a lot of questions early on by saying "we like that" or "we hate that," shutting some doors early on that might've plagued us later if we'd chosen to keep considering them.
Promethean is, in its current form, a game benefitting from the input of several developers and other creative types at the office. But Bill Bridges (of Mage) is the mad scientist in charge now. Our input just provides him with raw material with which he can build The Creature (if you will).
The game is in great hands, with Bill at the helm. I'm still pestering him all the time, trying to sneak in and season every dish, but this game's going to be good because Bill Bridges knows how to make good games.
In the meantime, the rest of us are all chipping in to take up some slack on Mage for Bill. I'm developing Tome of the Watchtowers, for example.
There you go.
Cheers,
Will
