Eshu in the Movies Travellers' Tales

Well the females came from the same place, they were hibernating. The few who survived long enough from the last waking period not to be eaten, IE the biggest toufghest ones, went to ground and slept until he was awoken again. Like them Frogs in Africa, he was the catalyst for the breeding cycle to begin again after the drought.
Growth period and gestation it says were incredibly rapid, thats what took them by surprise. But it has been many years in the movie.
Biology used to have a problem with Dinosaurs because if they matured at the same rate as modern reptiles they wouldn't concievable be able to prpsper. thats why the new theory of warm bloded dinosaurs who matured quickly is now gaining so much support.
If, for the sake of the story, a species is to believed that hibernates for millions of years, and creates fire so it can burn vegetable and flesh to ash and then eat the ash, I don't really have any problems with them reaching maturity in less then ten years personally.
Besides, if you take it as a Changeling movie, the desolation is only Chimerical and the Dragons are Bygones.

Well usually I'd agree, but haven't I just shown that they are not there?
I mean maybe it helps to have watched it several times like I have, but the explanaitions are there. For all its faults plot holes is not one I would ever lay at its feet.

Mr. Nancy from "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman
Longshot from "The X-Men" (comics)
Zatoichi from the "Legend of Zatoichi" film series (portrayed by Shintaro Katsu)
Roux from "Chocolat" (portrayed by Johnny Depp)
Jack Starks from "The Jacket" (portrayed by Adrian Brody)
There are several characters from the movie "Angel Heart" that I think make great Eshu, too (or maybe they'd be better Satyrs; I guess it's a matter of opinion. )
Harry Angel (portrayed by Mickey Rourke)
Epiphany Proudfoot (portrayed by Lisa Bonnet)
Toots Sweet (portrayed by Brownie McGhee)

After all... surely "dashing adventurer" is a hugely common stereotype for most RPing characters? It's gotta be the far-travelled tricksy storyteller aspect that makes the eshu, yeah?

Now Robin (Dick Grayson) I could see as an Eshu. Ex circus family and all that, sidekick and storyteller to the real man.

Its all about the fear baby! I will fight monsters by just being so gosh darned more freaking frightening than they are! And I'll do it my way no matter what those pathetic well heeled law makers and crafters of society say about it!
Robin as Pooka? I'm down with that!

Sissy Hankshaw Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
Count D Pet Shop of Horrors (I thought so more for the manga than the animation)
Pippi Longstocking
Jamal Malik Slumdog Millionaire
Luke Cool Hand Luke
Eisenheim The Illusionist
ETA: maybe Evira: Mistress of the Dark, but I'm thinking she's more of a Pooka.

But I assert that Batman is a Scathach sluagh.
Think about it!
What's his brand of fear? Does he bully the bad guys? Does he scare them with raw viscera until they puke? Or is it more subtle? Isn't it more... like how a sluagh scares people into being good? But these people aren't children. And they won't be good.
And the most recent Batman always has that hoarse whisper when he gets into the suit! Because he called upon the Wyrd!
All right, that's enough of that.
Doctor Who - Yeah.
Dude from Mirrormask? Definitely.
Also - Ishmael, from Moby Dick. Maybe.

Do you have any friends who have 'missing days'?
Do you sleep with your window unlocked?
Be seeing you...
