There's a new project in town, neither WoD or Exalted, called Scion. You play a spawn of a God. Or possibly a new, baby god. It's supposed to be loosely based on Exalted 2E mechanics.
I'm envisioning an "American Gods" rpg. And I'm happy.

If it uses the NWoD core to build from, I'll be a bit happy.

If it used NWOD as a core it wouldn't be based of the Exalted 2e rules.

Does it really need to use Exalted nechanics to use the concepts?
Plus there is Psion (part 2) which sounds like a revamp of Trinity...

They might go with the nWod stats, mostly because they are easier to ST with, but most of the system is probably going to be Ex2.

It would have Tick combat and freebies at character creation, as well as Virtues and no morality stat.
So no, I doubt it's going to be a nWoD game.

Except that Psion doesn't really exist, because it was a typo. The name of the game is Scion.

Here's what I've learned:
It will use a modified version of the Exalted 2E rules. No, I have no fucking idea what, exactly that means.
But I suspect there will be streamlining and adaption to a modern-day setting inolved. 
It will involve up to four well-known pantheons from which to pick the god/dess who brought you into the world nine months after the ambrosia binge.
As the big baddies, it will have the Titans, which (I suspect) is a generic catch-all term for Those Who Came Before And Want To Come Back To Turn The World Into A Big Flaming Bag Of Poop.
There will be three books, and it is assumed that your little God-Brat will want to grow up into a Demigod, or go all the way to the top and become a God. Each book deals with those crucial stages of development, with the first book being about Divine Rugrats.
And now, let us pray for further developments.

Is it self contained or do they plan it as a full line? Because it kind of sounds like Exalted for the modern age which isn't a bad thing I guess.

You get three books: one to start your career as a god-spawn, the mid one follows your career as a demigod, and the third sets you up to be an actual god. Pretty self-contained, I'd say.

A little idea called Orpheus worked (And boy, it did!), so I don't see how Scion wouldn't.
