Do any of you guys know of any good websites that have examples of traditional healing methods in third-world or fourth-world countries? I need it for anthropology class.

In the less developed parts of Russia they believe that rubbing goat lard on one's stomach will prevent pregnancies. Unfortunately, this just leads to smelly women.

The traditional definition of first, second, and third world are:

First world: Members of NATO and their allies.
Second world: Members of the Warsaw Pact and their allies.
Third world: Everyone else.

The fact that the third world tended to be poor and backwards has led to a redefinition of the term "third world" to mean "backwards country where people live in filth and poverty". "Fourth world" has been coined to mean "the places people in third world countries look at and say 'damn, we're pretty well off compared to them!'"

As far as traditional healing methods, I'd start here:
