I'm half a continent away from my book. Can somebody tell me what the restrictions, if any, on Obfuscate 4 in *Revised* MET for Masquerade - Green or Black Laws Of The Night book, not grey or red.
Specifically, I need to know what, if anything, it says about "vanishing" from somebody who has a grip on you, or if there's any indication that Vanish changes the basic rules in Obfuscate 2 beyond giving you a test to do it while people are actively watching you. Anyone got the book handy who can tell me that?

Half a continent away? Are you doing game stuff on your honeymoon?
Anyway, answering your question.
It says "When using Vanish from the Mind's Eye, you gain all the benefits of Unseen Presence, but with some additional power. You may vanish from view at any time, without having to seek cover" Then it goes into the mechanical details.

The way my local LARP does it is that it is just like Unseen Presence, except that it may be done, as stated before, in plain sight. This is especially useful for getaways.
Our house rule has a rule about Fade/Vanish, though--if you declare "Fade from Mind's Eye" and someone calls a physical challenge to grab you, then your fade automatically fails.
The advantage, though, is clear, especially in the middle of combat.
