I've been looking around for potential places to host a Vampire: The Requiem LARP that is running up to about 30 people. We have recently had some problems with the current host (apparently the contract they wrote up for us was outside their regional manager's guidelines at the apt. complex clubhouse we used), and are trying to find something that would be workable. 30 people, allows music, preferably away from droves of non-players so that some of our players' kickass costuming can happen.
We used to do it in a hotel meeting space, but the size is starting to get a bit out of hand for that location. Plus the hotel being very busy, ended up with some problems there.
Pricewise, up to $60 per session (about four hours) is workable. Free is better, but... yeah.
The University here does not want to host a LARP because of vandalism that was blamed on a previous LARP group. Houses are unable to be used; I'm one of few in the group who own a home, and not only would my home be too small for 30 people to RP comfortably, my boyfriend would kill me.
Someone suggested things like local recreation rooms at neighborhood associations and stuff like that. I'd love to get some good suggestions.
